Collapsed Steering Shaft

Any thoughts on the best way to repair a collapsed steering shaft.

The column is out of the car and the shaft is fully accessible.

I have seen posts about the Mopar repair kit, but I am pretty sure that is no longer available.

When installed, it really doesn't matter. The two pieces are 'captured' by the coupler and the outer sleeve of the steering shaft. A friend of mine used plastic screws in the holes to hold it while installing.  :2cents:

:iagree:  Yep, the whole idea was to allow the shaft to collapse, but not just slide in and out and those plastic screws would probably work just fine. DON'T use metal, as that defeats the purpose.  :thumbsup:
