Window louvers touching rear window glass
« on: May 23, 2016 - 04:52:23 PM »
The underside rib on my rear window louvers are resting on my rear window in 1 spot. I've tried to fit them better but it's still running. With the pins in, they are tight but will this be an issue? Any suggestions? Thinking a piece of rubber on the rib that is rubbing?

SO I assume this is an aftermarket repop ?
the edges around the top & sides should have a rubber seal on them , the pins should hold them tight but it should never be touching on the glass !
So you could trim the inside of the slat that is touching  , a die grinder would trim it quick

Mine is close but not touching. It can with a rubber "gasket?" that rests on the glass, you could do the same thing with a slit rubber hose in a couple places.

Yea they are repops from dales. I've trimmed the underside but they keep touching the glass at some point or another. Don't want to trim anymore, getting a little close to the spot welds! I'm going to have to use a slit rubber hose.

What about shimming up the hinges  1/8" Some aluminum sheet shaped like the hinge, then painted black? Just a thought?  :dunno:

The pins at the bottom side are up more than I'd like already, afraid if I shim the hinges then I won't be able to engage the pin.

Is your rear glass Oem or is it a replacement piece?
If replacement it could have an incorrect curve to it.

Just a thought...
Removing the warning labels one at a time.
