Production number help please
« on: August 05, 2014 - 08:34:14 PM »
My father in law owns a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda Gran Coupe Convertable 318cid auto car. It is the FJ5 color code which Plymouth called "limelight" in 1970 if I'm correct. Does anyone know how many of these optioned Barracuda's were made with the FJ5 vin in 1970. Thanks!

It's one of 381 Grand Coupe convertibles with a 318 auto. Nobody can tell you how many were painted FJ5 because Chrysler never kept records like that.

Some people quote registries like Galen Govier's saying, "it's one of three painted red, etc..." but that means that Galen only has three red ones in his registry.

Chrysler did keep track of percentages of options but even those numbers are across the entire model line-up....so you can't get a accurate number...no way...no how...
I've taught you everything you know.....but I haven't taught you everything I know !
