Dent in body line
« on: July 21, 2014 - 05:41:00 PM »
How much of a nightmare is fixing a dent in the rear quarter on the body line? It's about the size of a fist. I wacked a low pole that I didn't see...great Monday!

Car needs a few patch panels anyway, but this one was dumb  :banghead:

I don't have one at the moment. Going back to my buddy's shop in the morning to finish up replacing a blown head gasket. Been having some fun lately as you can see haha

Body lines can be tough to fix, a picture would help us.

The good thing about these old cars is the sheet metal is not as thin as newer cars.  Therefore most dents can be pounded out and fixed, where new cars they just replace the panel.

The basic premise is either push or pull. Depending on where it is and how deep, there is also the possibility of PDR- paintless dent repair. The PDR techs are in league with Satan and can do stuff no mere mortal can; seriously- you'd be amazed and it may be worth your time to search one out. Check the net or local car dealers who use them to remove parking lot dents all the time.  :2cents:
