At the recommendation of chryco I went with McLeod pressure plate (long 3 finger) and clutch disk...I also went with the larger 10.95(I think was the size).
I also replaced all linkage and rods, z bar, shift mech, lower clutch cover, input& throughout bearing...through Mopar(fork&adjuster), Brewers, Lordco

Mine is a 73 340, feel free to ask further. Ill help as best I can remember!

I just bought the car and the previous owner gave me a new clutch, pp, throwout bearing from napa.  It's a diaphragm style,  will I have problems with that one or should I go to a 3 finger style. I read about people removing the spring on clutch pedal. I have read about diaphragm pp sticking to the floor.  I just want to put
One in and be done.

I hate diaphragm clutches , I do not like the feel & the car was not designed for them & shifting hard at high RPM the clutch will stay on the floor [want to know how I know?]  I have used the Borg & Beck / Long 3 finger type from McLeod with success 10.95" diameter as above to maximize surface area & life  , But some members have had problems with them recently , no one else makes the B&B / Long .

Seeing that we are on this clutch topic. I was going to install mine today but after 9 years in the garage the disc had some serious grime on it. I figured I'd buy a new one. This clutch thing is driving me nuts. I have a 130 tooth flywheel I need a new 10.95 disc. I cant find one (disc only) for the 23 spline input shaft that says 10.95". Do I or can I get the 11in? Iirc about 13 years ago I had this issue buying a clutch. They were calling a 10.95 an 11in. So is that what I should get?  :pullinghair:  My clutch and flywheel have only 700 miles on them. So I don't want to buy another set.

I have a 130 tooth flywheel and I thought that I needed a 10.5 clutch not a 10.95.  Wish someone could educate me on this subject.

From everything that I have been told and have read, 130 tooth flywheel = 10.5 clutch. However, as with my mission, I have confliction with the disc choice. My current disc is a 10.95. But the fun is that I have read that an 11in disc will work with the 10.5 clutch but yet there is also a 10.95in that some people/places call a 11in.

I do know that you will not fit an 11in pressure plate on a 130 tooth flywheel. I made that mistake once when the mechanic told me to order an 11in clutch but meant 10.95.  My head hurts now. time for beer. I await answers for both of us. :)

Ok
The 130 tooth flywheel uses an alum belhousing & the flywheel can accept both the 10.5" & the 10.95"
The 10.95 & 11" both use the same disc , the 10.95 distinction is supposed to separate the 11" system
The 143 tooth flywheel uses a Cast Iron belhousing & uses a 11" clutch system which uses a different bolt pattern & will not fit the smaller 130 tooth flywheel even though the disc is interchangeable .
E bodys were only built with the 130 tooth system but the 143 system can be fitted into the E body

Thanks Chryco, I ordered a 10.5 disc as I couldn't get/find a 10.95 disc only to replace mine. Unless like always some are calling the 10.95 an 11inch. But whatever I guess Im set now.  :)

McLeod will sell all of their discs seperatly with any compound available , the 10.5 " will lose some grip & life span , 1/2" at the outer diameter helps with leverage . As I said above the 10.95 & 11" use the same disc if you want to return what you bought & install the larger one

Myself and a few others used the Mcleod  B&B pressure plate and had serious issues with it not releasing fully due to the factory not setting the fingers properly. My pressure plate has a blue streak from heat about 1/3 of the way around which incidentally is the same area where a fingers adjusting screw is different than the rest. McLeod will fix it for free, after you ship it to them in California which would cost me $60. I bought a Ram diaphragm pressure plate and love it. They are a lot better than they use to be "back in the day".  :D

agreed there ahs been issues with some McLeod PP but you can still buy discs seperatly from them in the spline & diameter needed which is all I was suggesting here as he wants to reuse the PP

I couldn't find just discs on their website. I did get a McLeod disc from Summit. I just may return it.
