I have a 70 cuda 340 4 speed the problem I'm having is the pedal doesn't return all the way it stops short about 1 or 2 inches I can bump it with my foot and it pops out the clutch works fine has anyone heard of this and if so do you know of a fix?

I replied in the other post but it is better here , anyway adjust the length of the pushrod longer so the pedal is pushed back higher so it will overcenter pulling the pedal all the way to the top

I had the same problem on mine. I ended up doing what CP said and it worked fine. Doesn't take a lot of adjustment to make a difference.

New to the 4 speed I'm assuming that adjustment is at the transmission end of the rod?

Yup at the end of the adjuster rod where it goes through the release fork
