Goldie's Celebrity Choice award

On the starting line at Goldie's old stomping grounds from 49 yrs. ago, I am looking forward to next year here to celebrate Goldie's 50 yr. anniversary of F/S Champion and E.T. Record Winning run with a few solo passes.

Back home at Kearney Cruise Show and shine. We got early to get the prime spot nearest the trees.

With my kids Roman, Kobe, and Crystal

Goldie at Kearney Raceway Park for inspection

The kids at the strip with GOLDFISH shirts

Goldie ready to make a pass on the start line of a drag strip in over 45 yrs.

The second pass at KRP, the first one has yet to be edited. Slow time but I pulled the left front tire off the ground. All passes were solo runs thanks to the track manager Al Simmons.

The kids heading home with their autographed GOLDFISH hats

July was a great month for my little car, my family and friends, and for all the fans of drag racing history. GOLDFISH shirts, Tees and Polos, non shrink and non fade, as well as embroidered hats are for sale to anyone interested, just PM me and I will fill you in. One more show, Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit and two more drag race appearances this year. I thank the Lord for all the opportunities he has provided me with to live my dream.

Dutch, The only practice I've had is on asphalt and concrete streets in Kearney where there is no traffic and no cops. I have only made about ten runs on the street. Half of the battle is timing the lights and getting used to looking at the tach, the tree, and the track in front of me so it is a get reacquainted with drag racing 101 for me. However, on the street with slicks I turn 4,000 RPM and it launches like a rocket with no bog down. At 5,000 RPM on the street (even after a good burnout) it breaks loose. My first pass at the track I tried a 4,000 RPM and about killed it because the slicks grabbed so good. The second pass I tried 5,00 RPM and it still bogged down out of the hole.(That's the vid I posted above). The last run I tried my street radials but it was after dark and the track had cooled down so the car just spun the the tires all way down track and got so loose I had to back out of it. I am going to try launching at 5,500 RPM and 6,000 RPM next time out but I am kind of concerned about winding the motor the high with no load on it. What do you think about winding it up like that ? :clueless:

Great posts Bruce - thanks for taking the time to let us in on the action!

I see a lot of launches now where they bring it up on the rev limiter and then dump the clutch. As long as you don't leave it there too long I think it would be fine -  :2cents:
