God no, no birdcage here.  :roflsmiley:

So I guess I'll post a pic first so there is a good reference:

1) Lube up the ball stud like no tomorrow ( I used lithium grease)
2) Put the seal so it's vertical to the ball
3) While the ball stud is held firm in place push the seal forward and then on. DO NOT TRY AND PUSH TOP DOWN as it's a real pain.
4) Congratulate yourself in not wasting an hour figuring this out and using every sailor cuss word in the process.

I don't remember what I did to get those seals on, but in general when I have reluctant rubber things, like radiator hoses, that won't go on I spray them with silicone lubricant. Works great.

I use the silicone spray lubricant bought at a waterskiing shop for lubricating the seals on a drysuit, otherwise it's nearly impossible to get on.

Tried this trick last night. Worked like a charm. I think securing the ball post to something solid so you can really torque on the seal made all the difference.

Thanks for the tip!

I thought by the amount of swear words I used to figure it out that the world would be a better place for letting this tip out.
