1973 Challenger header panel, headlight, grille assembly help
« on: January 19, 2014 - 03:54:11 PM »
I have almost all the parts I believe cleaned up. I also have new hardware kits for the front end. Does anyone have a diagram or photos of how to assemble it all? I did not take it apart so I would just be guessing.
Thanks

It should be pretty self explanatory when you get into it.  There are three screws at the top of the grill that go into the header panel.  There is one bolt on the bottom of the grill that goes into the support bracket in front of the radiator.  There are two long screws(maybe 3" long) that go into the header panel on the bottom corners of the grill.  They are hex head screws that have built in washers on them.

The headlight buckets were originally color coded.  Here is the proper location by color code.  They are attached with three hex head screws each.

Each headlight bezel is attached with three chrome fine thread Philips head screws.  Each one is different.  You'll have to see how the screw holes line up.  The repop bezels don't have the right numbers on them.  You'll just have to test fit them and see which one goes where.

The bumper fillers screw to the grill, header panel and fenders.  The end pieces also use two spring clips to attach to the fenders.  There are two spring clips and one screw on the side of each fender.  There is also one screw that goes UP into the end the header panel.

Where did you get your screw and attachment kit for the 73 grill and header?
