    Ok, when it comes to Mopar knowledge I consider myself somewhere between a novice and an expert, that's why I joined this forum, to learn more. My car is a '70 Chally RT/SE 440-6, auto-tranny, no AC, non ECC, is currently undergoing restoration. 90% numbers matching already but found out from Mr. Govier that my outboard carburetors match but my center carb is a '71 not a 70.  In my 1970 Dodge Service Manual I saw that the correct number for the center carb should be R4376 for an automatic non ECC 1970 Challenger. I have had no luck yet with finding that correct number but on ebay they have a description for a 70 center carb that I am confused about.

    My guess is that this is a reproduction carb or new carb but not made in 1970? I am confused that they use O.E. and have a different number than what my service manual says.

    Can someone help me understand this?

    I think the term OE or OEM means that is looks like original will fit just like the original but does not have the original part # on it.

    4376 is correct...I just sold one yesterday., with a complete motor/tranny set-up.

    thanks, so my next question is if both of my outboard and rear carbs are the correct # and date coded the same, if I were lucky enough to find a R4376 center carb, how important is it that the date code will probably not be the same as the outboard dates? Remember, I am trying to restore to as close to original as possible but to get the exact 3 date codes will be next to impossible I would think
