B11 brakes
« on: September 20, 2014 - 12:08:39 PM »
Hi everyone. Was wondering if anyone knew the dimensions of the brake drums on B11 Equipped Challengers. My car is an RT with no power anything but the fender tag and build sheet are gone. I think my 70 Bee had them and they were 11X3 but not sure if this is true on E bodies as well.

ALL E Bodies got 10" rear drum brakes, with either discs, or 11" drums up front. reguadless of rear axle or engine size.

The only exception to the rule are the AAR and T/A Challengers which got 11" rear drums with discs standard.

Actually I don't know what /6 cars got....

My 1970 Challenger R/T came as part of the R/T package with 11x3 drums in front and 11x2.5 in the rear. That was considered to be heavy duty brakes.

So are these larger drums considered the B11 option? Heavy duty brakes?

From the 1970 salesman's pocket guide it looks like B11 are heavy duty brakes.  You can check hamtramck-historical.com>library>scroll to salesman pocket guides and click the Dodge logo.
