disc brake conversion question
« on: September 22, 2014 - 02:21:16 PM »
This question may have been answered before (it probably has & I can't find it). I have a friend who owns a garage and has offered me a complete disc brake set-up from a newer (I don't think more than 4 years old) SRT-8 Charger for practically nothing. I have a '74 Dodge Challenger with a monster 543 stroked 440, and front disc only, drum rear. I plan on making an occassional track run with it and it is nose heavy,, lots of torque and horsepower has crappy (standard Mopar) handling. It's stupid fast & scary as He_ _  :22yikes:. I need 4-wheel disc brakes & better suspension, but with the brakes...would it be hard to retro fit the above mentioned disc brakes to fit my car? I'm looking for a fairly inexpensive solution, but not something convuluted, confusing and a waste of money. Would it be better to just buy a conversion kit? Thanks!
