Any feedback on Hellwig sway bars
« on: September 27, 2014 - 05:45:09 AM »
Hi all,

Looking to buy a set of sway bars for my 73 cuda.
Hellwig tubular front and solid rear bars on offer. I like the fact their rear bar is chassis mounted also.

Anyone used their products and how do they rate the quality of the actual bars/links and has anyone had any issues ie;fitment, breakages, interference fit to anything ??
Any feedback good or bad is appreciated.

Thanks guys..

They fit well, they work great, they are not as nicely finished as the Hotchkis stuff but they are less than half the cost so deal with it... By not as nicely finish I mean the ends that receive the sway bar links are flattened & have a hole throughout where as the Hotchkis have a nice machined reciever pocket... The end link bushing may not live as long...

And the rear  bar is axle mounted not frame mounted, gives more room for the exhaust but it adds unsprung weight.. On most of these cars our tires & wheels weight enough that is pretty apparent we aren't serious enough about carving corners that a few lbs of unsprung weight is going matter...

My front is the same as Bigschlunks. Turn in to the corners was more crisp.  I recommend it. My rear bar is factory unit.

My factory front bar will be for sale as soon as I get pics along with Hotchkiss UCAs I don't need.
