You would have to change the front bearing retainer for big block on either one of them.

Brewers sells an adaptor ring that fits right over the smaller input housing making it the size of what the big block input housing is. Way cheaper than a new input bearing retainer.

I live in Myrtle Beach, SC but I am originally from Edison NJ.  My family lives in the Toms River area now.  I will be going up there in October.  Not sure yet if I am going to drive or fly.  If I do drive, I might have room to carry a trans up.

If you fly, that would be one heck of a "carry-on" :smilielol:

I had them machine the hole so that it would be a big block bell to fit a small block retainer (just the set up I had and needed a bell)

I read somewhere that Passon is taking A833s in partial trade for the new 5 speeds, so he may have a bunch of them available. Wish I had the $4K to spend on that new 5 speed tranny but with kids still in college?...

If you look for an 833 Overdrive, the one with a aluminum body, steel tail, I find those from $75-$100 at swap meets.

Works great behind my 440 with 3:55 gears. Get the front bearing retainer turned down for $20 somewhere and you've got yourself a manual tranny e-body.

Came in late '80s pickups.
