295's = snug fit ?
« on: October 15, 2014 - 09:31:22 PM »
i recently bought a new set of wheels, i got the tire shop to slap on a 295/45/18 to see how it fit and to my suprise its really close to being perfect. i have 3/4'' clearance at the leaf so i'm not worried there but i only have 1'' to the inner 1/4 panel [ lip has been rolled ] and the tire is 28.5'' tall so i'm worried that if i bottom the rear suspension the tire will rub the inner 1/4.
 is there anyone out there that is running a similiar size tire ? just curiuos if i'm gonna run into problems......... i really want to run these, if i go down a size there is only one brand of tire out there

I run that size tire on my Barracuda and haven't had any issues. You may be able to get a HD ratchet strap to load your suspension and check your clearances.

I run a 315/17 tire with no issues. The bottoming out thing is tough to accomplish actually. The rear is really light on these cars and as such, unless you are transporting a load of bricks in the trunk, you won't bottom out. :2cents:

 hey goody, are you running a 295/45 or a 295,40?
if your running the 45 series would you be able to measure your clearance to 1/4 panel?
 the 40 series is a full inch shorter so it would be safer wich I may go that route but I would like to run the taller tire if possible
