Rear Springs - What's everyone running

Here is my dilema.  My springs have been sagging for a while and now it's time to swap them out.  I call ESPO (thanks for everyone for the recommendation) and I'm with +2, +1, Stock, -1 and -2.  I like my car to be level and low as I have everything maxed out as far as tire width and tucked in so there is no rubbing anywhere.  What have you guys purchased and how high did the springs lift the rear of your car.  I'm running 285/40/17 in the rear (26.05 tall).  Thanks for the help.

Hi. I suggest the following way forward;


1) Use a jack to have the rear end at desired ride height.
2) Measure the distance from rear-fender-wheel-arc to centre-of-wheel, and we have a starting point !!.
3) The rest of us should be able to chime in with our measurements and installed spring types.
4) If photos are used, we should state the outer diameter (even if this can be calculated if we have the tire data)

Now I don't know if there will be much difference between a Challenger and Barracuda,...but to be safe, we should state which E-body we're collected our data from ??
Also,...what are the experience with respect to sagging over time ?
I will NOT be surpriced if there will be atleast some spread in ride height even for similar spring-car combinations...

Here is the look that I am after - This is my car with the rear jacked up using the air shocks.  I need to get a photo of how far it sags without of the pinion snubber contacting.  Its sad and I'm gonna fix it.  I'll post my game plan shortly.

In their installed position, the original springs should only have about a 2" arch in them with the full weight of the car on them. This flatter appearing position helps signifcantly with handling aspects of a mopar spring pack compared with more highly arched springs of other makes.

I would suggest you jack the car to a point where you have this slight arch in them to simulate the oem position. Espo builds the stock packs to duplicate this position. Once you are at that point, you can then determine how much + you need to get the stance you want.

Just installed a set of  Heavy-Duty leaf springs  from summit racing. I gain a little less than a 1'' over my dead old springs; i was hoping for more. The pix show that the drivers side is 1/8'' lower or my bumper or driveway could be off .See what u think.I want to go a liittle higher so now i am looking at shocks??

Picture of my car with requested  plus 1 1/2" over stock from ESPO the day I installed it. It did settle after a few weeks.





after a few weeks of settling...



Then I went to Hyperco composite rear leafs...

In stock trim, about an inch or so of the rear tire should be tucked up inside the wheel well. The pic you supplied as desired height is probably an inch and a half higher than stock.
I'm running Mopar XHD's which tuck my 315's into the wheel well nicely. You probably want something like an Espo +1  :2cents:

I have MP XHD's , a buddy got a pair about 3-4 years later... mine have more arch.....  :dunno:

My Cuda front is 24-1/4" and the rear is 25" measured from the garage floor to the center of the wheel openings. Trunk empty and half a tank of fuel. Been sitting for over a week.
I have new ESPO stock height HD leafs and still riding on the original stock torsion bars.
Fronts tires are 17x8 245/44R17 Firestone Indy Wide Oval and the rears are 17x9 275/40R17 Indy Wide Ovals too. All are 25.7" Tall, 36 PSI all around.
With a full tank and trunk loaded the rear sits a little lower... but only by about a 1/4".
