1974 'Cuda retractable seat belts

I have 3 sets of these seat belts and not one of them works right.
I have taken them apart, they are a simple enough assy, but no amount of servicing sorts out the problem.
So there must be something else that a guy can use.
I looked at some interior photos of 1975 / 1976 Cordobs on the net and think that will work.
Or an Aspen, or Diplomant or something.
Anyone tried any of this?
I am hopefull, as it looks like it should work.

This is a vendor I have found on the web.  I'm not sure belts from a 30 year old car would be any better than what you have.  I considered using them on my car since my belts are very crappy and original.
