70 CUDA CONSOLE MOUNT QS.

I just purchased the 2 mounts (kit from year one) to mount my 70 4 speed console in my 70 cuda and I see on the mounts where the console gets screwed to them but how do the mounts get attached to the floor of the car?  (no holes in the mounts for attaching,Hmmmm  Welded?)    I was told this was a factory console car so there should be a sign of something somewhere from the past.  I hate to have to remove carpet to get this attached but maybe I do?  Who knows maybe never had a console from the factory..We all know how the internet sales can go.  Thanks .

Yes the brackets were/are welded, fender tag code C16 is console, if it's on the fender tag but no sign of old brackets on the floor... Lets just say the plot thickens...

Just small tack type welds.  I keep this one around as a pattern for new metal fabs.
Someone else may have a body in white picture (on CD) that gives you the measurements.  My scanner is down.  Only have books.

    4 speed w/o console.  Pull carpet back from firewall to shifter to see if the bracket was removed............
