'Sick Fish' suspension Defect
« on: October 31, 2014 - 01:38:15 PM »
I was reading up on some fourms about joe Rogans Sick fish cuda and hear that the front wheel fell off due to a defect in the front suspension. I read the build book and they used a magnumforce front end kit in that car and heard a few times about the welds breaking. I was thinking about ordering a magnum force setup. Just wondering if its true and i should lean towards an RMS setup. Thanks

That happened a long time ago.  I think the system has been upgraded since then.  However, I've never heard a bad thing about the RMS.  If I was going to upgrade to an aftermarket system, I'd go with RMS.  Too much money for me though.

I guess it depends what you want to accomplish , I have not found a front end system I like , nothing is fully thought out , I hear the turning radius is similar to an aircraft carrier with RMS , some are light wieght & for racing & will not take the pounding on the street , welded control arms can fail at the welds , I still feel that the T bar is one of the best ways to go being is the weight is low along the frame & in the center of the car which has to be the best place to locate it overall so why try to eliminate that & use coil overs which load the shock tower area which is definatly not designed to take the load ?
As Brad has shown you can go a long way with stock suspension components  & still have reliability !

Only one aftermarket supplier gussets his pieces (that I am aware of) and that is Hotchkiss. They should make components with extra steel at the ends where the bushings are and "wrap" that steel around the bushing holder then weld the Shiite out of it. There was a post (here or Mopars) a while ago where (I am thinking a B-Body) let the UCA weld go and what a mess and he was lucky he got it reasonably safely stopped with fender and inner damage. A friend has his one owner (his uncle) Super Bee 440/4spd 58000miles and he is using an RMS setup - welded UCAs with HEIMs. HEIMS are not bad but those welds?? Also uses the RMS 4 link rear.
I think CP summed it up to say how Brad has made his car handle with all stock components except his Hotchkiss arms.
