Body Molding Clips
« on: November 18, 2014 - 03:02:02 PM »
Was able to save a good portion of the body molding (stainless and aluminum).  Windshield, rear window, trunk, grille, edging for vinyl top, etc.  The grooves on the backs of the moldings looks about the same size.  Is there a standard size fastener to use?  72 Challenger.

All is cleaned up and ready.

First time doing this.  Thanks.

Each piece of molding uses a different size clip but most are available in "clip Kits" :2cents:

I would suggest NOT using the factory style plastic retainers for the vinyl top trim.  The plastic used in the reproduction clips is very flexible and does not hold the trim tight to the body.  I drilled holes right next to the raised "pins" and used the 1970 style "bolt-on" clips.  Unless you get into the trunk and really look, you can't tell the difference. :2cents:
