Interesting that in 73 they used a strap to hold up the heater box from the front.

They did that on all A/C E Bodies :2cents:

For those that have used Instrument Specialties, how expensive is it for the turn key dash resto?  I know each dash is different.  But is it 3000, 4000 for a complete rebuild?

  Mark just packed up our dash to send to them minus the instruments, radio and AC controls.  They told me yesterday that if we included all the stuff we left out it would take about six months to get it back.  I would love to hear what it cost to do a full turn key dash.

It cost me over $2000 and that was just buying the parts.  With the exception of the gauges and the speakers, I redid everything myself.  If you are paying someone to do it for you, it's probably another couple thousand.  Here are some rough numbers...

gauges...$650
dash pad...$600
dash harness...$520
wood grain...$250
speaker...$50
glove box liner...$20

Then you have the paint for the dash frame and heater controls.  New bulbs, flashers exc...  It's definitely not cheap.  If you need your radio redone that can be another $500.  I was really worried about tackling that large of a job but it wasn't bad once I got into it.  I actually enjoyed it.
