Disc brake spindles

Changed wheel bearings on my Challenger. When installing inner bearings, I could push them all the way in with my fingers (just a slight resistance).
Doesn't feel right.....
Should i be concerned, get new spindles?

How else would you get them on ? They're not a pressed-on bearing.
