Battery needed?

My Mom's '12 Benz is on it's third....

MB's have alot of OBD's.

I remember a customer who bought a new battery from me once for his MB and it was dead in a month.

He didn't drive it enough. MB's gotta be kept charged constantly. Heavy draw when sitting too long from OBD's.  AGM's like any battery don't like extreme cycle differential. They want a constant. AGM's require tend to have more reserve. What was the battery mfg'r?

Over the last 4 years, I noticed that BMW's and Mercedes Benz vehicles went thru batteries at a much faster rate. These engine's tend to run pretty hot from my recollection. That's not good on wet cell batteries.

I know this about Benz's.  Friend has a 2001 C class.  This car has so much electronics its not funny.  There are relays or controllers for rear section of car, R and L power seat, Windows etc.  Anywho, when a controller goes bad, it just discharges a battery all day.  He gets the rear control relay fixed at about $800.  Fixed discharged problem.  7 months later, the left power seat relay goes bad.  Discharges battery.  That will cost $400.  So his fix is just disconnecting the power relay.  There you go, all these electronics go bad and mucho $$$ to fix.  Yes they have a lot of OBD's etc.  If you can find the Consumer Reports on different batteries they tested, they show good to bad battery choices.  Forgot what was on the top of their list.

Cut the red cap open, gut the inside and install another battery in the case.  If you don't want to do that, don't throw away the battery.  There are always people looking for dead reproduction batteries to gut.

That's what I did. Got tired of overpriced repo battery's that don't last. Now if it dies I go to Fleet farm and by a $30 no name battery and slide into the red cap case and I'm back in business.
