putting 440 4 speed in bothers 73 sebring.
« on: November 29, 2014 - 08:40:39 PM »
Hello I am working with my Brother on his 73 Satellite that we took out the 318 automatic and installed a 440 4 speed. my question is on the starter relay the ground from the relay and we just run it to ground as we do not have the clutch switch. or is it better to put in a momentary switch for when we are not turning the key? all help would be great. thanks everyone..

I would hook some kind of clutch pedal switch up or something bad will happen.

I hit my own 70 Challenger fender when I was helping a friend out on his used car lot. I went to start the car, turned the key, and it lurched forward and hit my own Challenger.

If you do it with your car, worse could happen, could kill a kid. If it doesn't happen to you, it will by someone moving your car for you.
Find a new switch or rig something up. Just don't bypass it.

Find a new switch or gig something up. Just don't bypass it.

Thanks for the idea Rob I was thinking of like a start switch like on the new cars or something along that line..

Def put in a clutch safety switch as already stated   You are asking for an accident otherwise, especially if someone else not familiar with the car gets in the drivers seat
