Just as an update I'm listing to Led Zep IV as I'm typing on 8 Track. I think I must be in 20's years old instead of the 60's!

I never got mine to work right. doing what I outlined before I managed to get it wired and working correctly on my TV but my car radio apparently hates me. I will try again next summer. I Got tired of fiddling with it and just wanted to drive.

I have over 250 8 tracks I got for free, most of it country but a few odd gems.

Thank you both Bullit and Super Blue,

BUT since I know the radio has an AUX input I like the idea of a Line Converter. Now from what I understand here I am going to take the wires from the back of the 8 track player to the switch and using an AUX cable I can wire it to the radio. Thus meaning I just need to find switch power to the 8 track.

..and switching my power on the radio to constant power....this is looking easier and easier, untill I look under my dash and see the spagetti factory of wires under there.... :eek4:

You are nuts, but what the hell ... why not.

Don't run your power constantly hot. It isn't a big deal to wire it into the accessory from the fuse box. Even better would be to, if your current head unit has it, run the remote from your head unit to the 8 track.
