to tint or not to tint

I think tint will look great on the rear window and contrast nicely with the green paint. That's what I plan on doing the next time my rear window comes out. I won't do the sides because I allways roll them down to show the car.

I totally agree with Alan, factory tint is really nice especially if the car has a white interior. Darker tint just looks out of place on a musclecar. I can see the functional value though.

Tint. There are a few company's that makes tinted glass,so I would go for that instead of tint film.

Looks GOOD!
If nothing else, tint for UV protection. That plastic is expensive!
The biggest caveat, is for backing up at night time. You literaly Cannot See Shi, uh, STUFF at all. WORSE than stock with the small mirrors. Look around before you get in, and be careful, maybe even winding down your windows.
You have to Be Extra Careful. Chrome parts and sheetmetal are even more expensive.
 In the daylight, - can't beat it.

For those interested, they make a clear residential/commercial film that is something like 98% UV and heat blocking.  Your local residential/commercial tint shop should have a demo setup that has a heat lamp and two pieces of glass, one with clear tint and one without.  The one with tint transfers very little to no heat.  It's too thick to conform to a curved rear glass, but works good on flat glass.  That's what's going on mine with factory tinted glass.
