Help me identify this carb
« on: December 28, 2014 - 09:22:05 PM »
Can anyone identify this carb? I don't see a brand, model or anything on it. The numbers 7047 and 6499 are printed on the top.

looks like a holley 3310 that someone has put a secondary metering block on along with a quick change housing for the secondary spring. should be a list number on the front of the choke housing.

list# 6499 is supposed to be a 650- wait for it- spread-bore, double-pumper. Since as per your photo, it appears to be neither a spread-bore nor double pumper; unless my info is totally wrong, it may be a pieced together carb. Either way, don't pay too much for it as the renew kit is $80 @ Summit. Just my  :2cents:

Looks right - and it's got the secondary jet plate too.

yes it is. they used to call them a 780cfm. someone has modified that carb by adding the secondary metering block. it did not come that way. if you got the #6499 off the top of that block it came off a 650 spread bore. should work ok and allow you to change secondary jets. a word of caution though, if the previous owner changed that you never know if he did anything else, ie modified any of the internal passages, unless you are well versed in tuning Holley carbs. Having said that they always have some value so if you choose not to run it, put it on ebay.  :2cents:

I believe the 3310-1 had a metering plate not a block
