Hmmm, cracked the lock ring on the airdoor spring adjuster and it just wound round and round, no tension, pulled it out,,,,, no spring! great!!! that probably explains the WOT bog issue I have been having, the guy I bought the car from assured me he just put a kit in the carb,,,, it runs normally so well figured it was set up right..

Yup, sure do! Now, where to get one, it looks like most carb rebuild kits don't have them, I'm in the US in a couple of weeks so I'll gran a kit then and hopefully find a spring over there some where.

As I'm in Australia, can someone point me in the right direction to where I can get a replacement spring and carb kit while I'm in the US without getting the run around as I will be time poor, I would order on line or phone and have it pre delivered to my hotel

I "think" that Eldebrock says the adjustment screw should be 1 turn tight after the door makes contact on an AVS.  Mine is 1 1/2 on a 650

Thanks Racer57,
yep, 1 1/2 turns to 2 turns does it on a Carter Thermoquad AVS, it looks like I have found a spring from a member, all I need now is a good, high quality rebuild kit for the TQ AVS from someone???? there are a few out there but hard to know which is the top shelf unit
