Power Steering Fitting Needed
« on: December 29, 2014 - 02:32:33 AM »
The fitting that connects the pressure hose to the steering box is stripped (so the hose won't tighten on tho the flare end).  Anyone know where I can get one?

So is the fitting striped or the hole it goes in?  Have a picture?   :clueless:

I simply went to a local place that builds/supplies hydraulic lines and bought one out of a bin?  :dunno:

I messaged the Ebay guy and he told me that his is the correct one I need (1/2"-20 threads into the box).  I'm pretty sure the Bouchillon fitting is for the earlier (up thru '69) PS pump.  Anyway, Bob, AKA 4speed Fish, came over and put one in that he had.  He told me that he had gotten it from the Ebay seller, Rehlenberg.

You probably mean R(ick) Ehrenberg, he's an ex-Chrysler engineer I believe and writes a tech column for Mopar Action and sells stuff on Ebay. He knows his stuff if you contacted him about the difference in fittings.

I had to buy the same exact one you mentioned off ebay, crazy thing is that if you send out your box to be rebuilt you would expect that part to be reattached when returned.

That's exactly what bob (4SpeedFish) said.  Firmfeel kept his too.

I have a few of those fittings in nice used condition with the washer. PM or e-mail if you need a replacement
