Best place to order AMD parts?
« on: January 12, 2015 - 04:18:47 PM »
Is it better to order direct from AMD?  Or is there a supplier that will discount for a large purchase?

I need to order...
Passengers quarter
passengers outer wheelhouse
passengers door skin
package tray
drivers front floor pan
door pin kit (for door hinges)
battery tray kit

Looking at AMD they show to be out of stock on several items.  :dunno:

For AMD I have found the best prices between Summit and Jegs, pay attention to shipping because usually that is the tie breaker.  Both have the parts shipped direct from AMD anyway.  Not all of AMD's parts are listed on AMD's website  :screwy:  Classic Industries has a pretty good listing of their parts so is a good source for part numbers, but their prices are through the roof.   :22yikes:
Rock Auto sells Sherman body panels and some of theirs are decent too; Again, drop shipped.

Restoration Performance Centre in AZ are cheaper then from AMD direct and their freight is dirt cheap,  Roseville is also cheaper then from AMD direct don't know about their freight.

Got a bunch of stuff from Restoration Parts Source in Hayward, CA.  At the time, when they put together an order of $5000 or more to AMD, the shipping was free, but all of it would go the store where I would eventually pick up my stuff.  The process involved waiting until they had enough people and the orders exceeded $5K, but it saved hundreds of dollars.  Maybe a parts place in your area will have the same policy.

You can go on the Restoration Performance Centre website and put what you need in a cart and get a shipping cost to check, from memory it was only about $200 to have a heap of panels sent from AZ to IN (to my shipping guy then on to Australia) there was a full front floor, a hood, front and rear valances, drop offs, and other bulky panels in the order and nothing was damaged and everything well packaged.

 :iagree:

Find the closest mopar part sales restoration company and inquire if they will honor the same type of service.
If they do any decent amount of business; there should be no reason why they shouldn't do the same.
