a pillar replacement need a measurement

hey guys i'm in the middle of replacing my a pillars,cowl,firewall and inner fenders and lost my measurements. is anyone willing to measure their windshield opening for me? what i would like to know is from the inside of each a pillar at the top and bottom. my luck if i just weld them in where i have them mocked up the windshield wouldn't fit.

ok thanks turns out i didn't lose my notes. i had put them in a drawer of my tool box and the mice helped them self. found a pile of chewed up paper scraps turned into a nest.

turns out i don't need them afterall. i completely forgot that we had wrote them down on the roof also. 8 hrs later 1 side is on. thanks for the offer thou

Hi Jason you'd better get rid of those mice when the car is done I had them make a nest in the headlining of a car once they made a real mess and the smell was unreal had to replace the headlining a real hassle as the front and rear windows had to be removed and I won't even go into the electrical problems they caused by chewing on my harness let's just say it's a good thing I disconnect batteries on cars that don't get used regularly.

trust me i know there driving me crazy everyday i find a new nest in the drawers of my toolbox. we live in the woods so there  is no getting rid of them completely. i have decon in every drawer and they will make nests on top of it. part of the problem is i process my deer in the shed so they go in there for food. i'm building a garage in the spring so hopefully it gets better then. right now i have a 10x17 pop up garage that i'm working on the car in but it's hard to keep it warm when it was -17 yesterday.

bad thing is as i working on it tonight a stray cat went running under my car so there are cats around their just not keeping my mice under control. i haven't posted any new pics yet but there are pics of the day i bought it on the whats it worth board. got both a pillars done then pulled the floor out that the previous owner had just sitting in place. he had bought it in 2 pieces and i don't care for his welds at the tunnel so now i'm gonna buy a one piece floor for it. in the mean time i start installing the firewall then inner fenders tomorrow. money wise this going to be a slow project. might have to start selling a couple of parts to pay for the new floor.

nope no gm or ford parts on my property.lol i plan on going 4 speed and the car came with 2 slap sticks and the ones for a 70 seem to be getting a decent amount on ebay so they'll be the first to go. maybe someone will want the floor that was in it cheap. i'm sure i could make it work i just don't like the way he was installing it. he cut the original out an inch inside the rockers then cut the flange off the new panels. looks to me that he was just gonna lay the new one on top and weld to the old floor. the more i think about it i'm sure i could make it work and only have to buy the back floor panels. after all i'm not going for a show car restoration since nothing will be original except the color.  it was a 318/904 i have a 440 and plan on a 4 speed unless i find a way to afford a t56 or  passion 588 but thats a very long way away. i'm laid off for the winter and at the very least plan to have a pillars firewall, cowl and inner fenders installed along with having the front subframe sand blasted  before spring. i bought all the sheet metal last tax season but instead of buying parts this year i'm looking at building a 24'x32' garage this year so i have more room to work on it.

heres a pic of the pillars finally on. still need to fill the seams. i also had to cut out both top corners and make patches for them. still need to do alittle grinding in the corners. second pic is the floor board
