I use Lucas Hot Rod Oil.  It has a high zinc % (.21).

I've been running VR-1  or Diesel (napa/Valvoline) for years. But seeing my motor was an '01 crate not sure its required. But old habits die hard.

I was using a Lucas oil suppliment with Castrol GTX  but they quit making it so now it looks like I gotta switch to Valvoline VR1, which is OK with me. But the parts houses around here only carry 20-50 and straight 50 weight. but I'll do what it takes, especially after wiping out 2 cams in 3 years ...LOL

no one here cartriesthe Lucas hotrod oil (I never heard of it until now)

72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.

1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"
