One wire alternator
« on: March 02, 2014 - 10:14:23 PM »
Hello, I have a one wire alternator with the regulator on the back. Do I need to use the black voltage regulator from the firewall? I also just purchased the mopar performance electronic ignition with orange box. And a new engine wiring harness from classic industries that is modified for an electronic ignition.

Thanks for any help.
Thanks

CP,

to use the new one wire alternator, do you need to jump the green and blue wires in the factory regulator plug to bypass it?

No . the blue wire feeds 12v power to the reb & the green wire just controls grounding of the field , with a 1 wire alt it will have an internal regulator , so leaving the reg unplugged is all you need to do * protect the blue wire at the alt so it will not short .
