    David's GoPro tips and tricks

    Hi folks,

    I'm starting a video series on how to make great GoPro videos. I'll use GoPro Studio and Adobe Premiere Elements 11 to demonstrate how to mix and cut videos as well as go through the camera settings for different video situation.

    Next up is some general tips (kinda geared towards ATV's but can be applied to cars) as well as color correction for ProTune videos.

    David, I would be interested to know the best locations to mount your GoPro on a car to capture cool points of view (ie rear bumper facing suspension under car, or wheel spin in slo-mo, etc).

    What model go pro are you using? I'm in the market and real close to buying a hero4 silver based on the specs. The hero3 is tempting with prices falling now with them being "outdated" by the new model

    I'm using a Hero3 Black edition. The Hero4 silver has the same specs as mine (and from what I've heard it's the same internals as well). The Hero4 silver comes with a built in touch screen on the back which is very nice to position the camera - mine requires an external LCD backpack which will run you about $80 new.

    So, I'd get either the Hero3 Black, Hero3+ Black, or Hero4 Silver.

    Sorry, I haven't done any car videos yet. My stuff is mostly ATV's right now. For slo-mo burnout I'd place the camera on the ground facing at the side of the tire. A suction cup mount will work well for all the other car shots.

    Maybe all put my camera on my truck and drive around one of these days and see if I can put something together for you  :2thumbs:

    the old rust bucket was about to cross 200k and needed new tires, so i sent it over the 200k mark the only way i know how hahaha  but the camera focused on the rocks the the truck is kinda blurry
