"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

Recently stripped off the old seats off of the bucket frames.

The back of the head rest was gloss black.

I don't know if the tracks were added after the seat or together when they painted it.
I believe the tracks were added after being covered.

I'll be going semi gloss black on the tracks this week-end.

I had mine powder coated which gloss black. It was the best way to get rid of the rust.

Had mine Powder Coated but had it done while they were together. BIG mistake. That was before I found out how to take them apart. Now that they are disassembled just going to paint.

When I did my seat tracks, I disassembled them (which was a PITA to figure out how to do), then soaked in heavy duty degreaser for a couple of days (which also removed the paint).  Then spray-painted the 8 halves semi-gloss black.  I haven't yet reassembled them, but am hoping that the paint holds up after installation.

How did you take apart the seat tracks?   The only approach I can see at the moment is to grind and knock out one of the heavy rivets and hope that the roller and bearing slides will come out.

Read this thread. Tacks are not riveted together. Just bend the tab down on the end and they will slide apart.

Thanks!  I kept looking for something to bend on the bearing holder, not the end of the track.   Once I scraped some of the gunk off AND looked in the right place, the rest was pretty easy.   Much obliged.
