What front brake pads can I get to give the best bite, stopping power, for my manual disks?

How do you intend on using them, cruiser, occasional drags, autocross, driving school?  These all generate differing heat requirements to dial in the best option. I assume you have factory rotors?

Just cruiseing and occasional drags. I just want a little better bite than what i have now. I have the '73 rotors & calipers, not bad but I'm sure a more modern pad (ceramic, etc.) would do better. I'm sure some  of you have already done this. Thanks

I ordered some Hawk HPS pads, I'll let you know how they do.

I've always shad good luck with regular semi-metallics on cruisers.  Don't know about strip use as the run off areas I go to are so long I don't even need brakes until I get to the timing shack.

Firm Feel offers carbon metallic, obviously you found the Hawk HPS. I think EBS also offers a few different compounds as well.

The "harder" compound you get in pads, the more temp it takes to make them bite, so you need to be careful on stepping up in compounds. However, if your using OEM style organics, almost anything will be an improvement.

I always heard good things about Hawk pads though they dust a little.
