You can keep your power steering column if you get the Firm feel adapter for the manual box;  costs about $125. There's also some other place that sells the adapter for $75 but I don't remember the name

Swapped from power to manual in my 72 Challenger and the pitman arm was to small to go on the shaft, used a pitman off of a manual steering 73-76 Dart.

Our power steering although "tight" has no road feel at all, it's like floating down the road.... we both hate it.  So, we plan on doing the same thing here, moreover to shed some weight and HP drain, plus have a better feel of the road (and drag strip).

Who else makes those adaptors?  A $125 seems a bit pricy for what cannot be more that a collar or coupler.  :eekbig:

I used to have a contact for the $75 one so I'll see if I can get back in touch with him (or not). I changed columns and didn't need the adapter then later got a virus that wiped out all my e-mail address book so I'm not sure if I can reach him or not . . .
