Rear brake proportioning valve location

Team, right now I have drum brakes but will more than likely convert to discs on the rear, right now I also get rear brake lock up sometimes, given both cases I'm going to buy and adjustable brake proportioning valve, I'd like to install it up inside the rear diff well where the body hardline meets the flexible hose to the diff. I have my line lock fitted there so I was going to install it beside it, any problems regarding this location, ??????? I know its not a simple access to adjust but once set I dont intend on adjusting.

Most folks do it right after the block, you may have adjustment issues being way at the back

Are you using a line loc as an emergency brake/theft deterrent  ? Usually they are used to lock up the front wheels?  :clueless: Here is how I mounted my adjustable valve if it helps? I have never had to use it yet though, it's always been wide open. I'd suggest trying it first before you invest the time and money?

My location allows for easy adustment. It'l right next to the drivers seat and can be covered by the carpet so it is not noticible. The rear line runs directly below and all you have to do is cut and flare the two ends and connect then drill a 1/2 inch hole and a clamp or bracket mount it to the underside of the floor pan. I put a little caulking around to keep it sealed. see attachmentv

Thanks guys, I don't want to cut existing lines or drill holes in floors etc, I understand why ya'll have done it and think its great but its not something I want to do. Brad, no, I use it to prevent the rear brakes from working, I simply press and hold the button, then press the brake pedal to hold the car in one spot while I rotate the rear tires to check for even wear at high speed, then ease the brake to control roll forward or not etc. Rather than locking the front brakes solid, either on or off, this way I have true roll control. Right now I have typical rear drum brake lockup, I guess once I put the disc set up on I can install one if required.
