Well got new cobras yesterday and aligned today....went to a guy who was record mended by a
Mopar friends of mine......said the right aide was drooping so he adjusted ride height up by one half inch.....

Said camber on left side was way off.....said the strut rods govern that I think .....

He used stock specs more or less....seems to handl OK....not as heavy though as before.....

Of course my tires wore out the outer 2" to bald so.....

Guess I will try this for a while....

Only thing I can complain about is the steering wheel is slightly off center to the left when driving......but no pull or drift......last couple times it was aligned same off center deal..... :dunno:

I think you need another alignment guy.....

Yeah, combine that with the "stock spec more or less" part, and I'd be out the door.

So are his stock spec more on or more off?

Well like i said, the last 4 alignments (in 6 years) , they couldn't get the wheel 100% straight.  And I could be wrong on what he said the strut bars affected....(he didnt say "I think"......I did)........maybe it was caster.......it was a long day when I posted my post...LOL

He followed stock specs (as did the time before last and the time before that)......last time guy (right before this time) didn't and I ended up with severely bald edge on the drivers side front.....and right side getting close too....

This newest guy said that unless the car has an aftermarket setup (like an altercation etc) it makes more sense to start with the stock specs and go from there. Which does make sense to me. We did discuss my offset UCA bushings......

Seems to track ok, doesnt drift or pull......and wheel returns after a turn OK......

This guy came highly recommended by a guy who owns several Mopars and toys including a Demon that has a custom front end......so I guess all I can do is wait and see how things wear. I may call him Monday and ask about the wheel centering and see what he says.

I cant expect a 40+ year old car with stock suspension to handle like my wife's 2011 Mustang.....problem is, I have never driven anyone else's old Mopar with "other than stock" alignment settings on a stock front end to kno what that would feel like.....so I may be set perfectly for all I know......LOL  :dunno: :clueless: :dunno: :clueless:

Could not get the steering wheel straight?  That is really sad.

You can do that yourself assuming the front end parts are not worn out.  Go find an alignment shop that has an old man working there.

I am scheduled to go back in this saturday for him to look at the steering wheel issue.

He said the car came in "high on caster and low on camber" and he feels I have a little slop in my steering box.

Hadnt noticed any til he mentioned it --- it was rebuilt by firm feel when I first put the car together, so about 5 years ago maybe.

When I drive it I guess there is a TINY bit of slop maybe? Hard to tell.....nothing that stands out to me.

He did reiterate that "all I have to go on are stock specs" (relative to not having special specs for a front end kit or something.

I addressed this in your other alignment reply, but high caster and low camber aren't necessarily bad things for a street car.

If he needs stock specs to plug in to the computer, try a 2005 Mustang GT. We won't be able to hit them, but they will  perform better than the original Mopar specs.

The tiny bit of slop could be in the steering pot coupler. These do wear.
