1st Time out
« on: April 30, 2015 - 06:08:18 PM »
For the 1st time in nearly a year, both cars are running! The Bird has nothing left on the "To Do" list and the Cuda is down to 3 things. I actually drove them both for about 45 minutes 1 in front of the other on I-65 in Indiana today until the rubberneckers got out of control, then stopped by state police on the way home. That's ok-it was a great day!!

"then stopped by state police on the way home"

was it a friendly .... "hey I wanna check out those cool cars" kinda stop .... or the crappy 'do you know how fast you were going sir....'

awesome to see em out and about!! I love to see old iron on the roads, such a contrast to today's generic plasticmobiles.

I drove the AAR, my friend Mike the Bird.

The stop was for 88 mph in a 65- he let us off since no one was around and we got a picture for him on his cell phone in front of the 2 cars with his lights flashing behind us on the off-ramp! I wish I could have had that picture too-I asked him for it and he said I was crazy. A really cool guy-he recognized we weren't endangering anyone and had been doing 65 at some point, and were just flushing out the carbs after a long winters nap.

Ha. I would like a shot like that.

A few years back I had my daughter with me in my Dak R/T when I accelerated quickly and "merged" in traffic. Looked at her , she had a big smile and just said more...
She was around 5 years old then.
Made me proud. lol
