Or you run into one of the many DMV workers who don't interpret the rules the same way the person on the phone does....  I swear getting the same answer twice is virtually impossible...   And when those answers relate to old cars & vintage plates getting the same answer twice is far worse....

California now has a program to allow old plates but they don't care what those plates came from just that you give them $$$$... Likely any attempt to get your plates back on the car will be pushed toward that program...

Exactly, already imagined going in and getting the run around. When attempting to register my CA. plated/offroad bike up here had to try 3 offices until I succeeded.

Is it possible to find out previous owners if you have there old plate? My car came with a plate and was last registered in 03 I believe

Same as WA, just one time fee of around $80 and you never have to register again.  If you're having to pay each year for CA plates you might want to switch to OR just for the money savings.

Not sure on that one.  You can try calling the Dept of Licensing.  Maybe ask a few different people as I found that it sometime just depends on who you ask.

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.
