Different brass floats ?
« on: May 19, 2015 - 07:41:25 AM »
Does someone know...why these Brass floats are different in style ?  Both should match the TQ Carb...but the Newer one looks strange
the "Hump" is on the other side...  (  downside...   UP   ! )...

Did someone use those aftermarket floats..? and where did you meassure the float high ? and what is the correct one for the aftermarket floats ??

Thank you for your help

Greetings Juergen

P.S  the upper one is the OEM brass floet    and the lower one is the newer one ( aftermarket )

...hmm  29 /32 is too high...  I think .   I sat my "plastic" floats to  1"....  because of the hard starting when the engine is  "warm"...  seems to work better.

I want to use the "aftermarket" brass floats..  with the step in front...  because I think brass works better than plastic

The little tool was part of a rebuild kit, I always used the measurement specific to the particular carb I'm working with.

...@ Bullitt

can you do me a favor ?  Would it be possible, that you measure the float hight ( i.e the numbers from your  TOOL )

I run through the www   up and down...but I didn´t found some matching numbers. The problem is, that the OEM brass floats are different in style ..to the Aftermarket brass floats..

Thank you in advance

Tool has two float measurements.. 1" & 29/32" .. I had marked to use the 29/32" on this model.
