Sweden: We have them all over also, but they put up warning signs before you hit the cameras, so it's not that big of a deal. I also speed all the time, but the only speeding ticket I ever got was in California :). It's a bit annoying to break for the cameras all the time, but you get used to it. No cameras on the freeways, only on highways. My best friend died in a car accident, he was a Mopar guy also, if theese cameras saves someones life, I can live with them.

Wow! $3000!?!  :screwy:
Thunder Bay, Canada
We have/had cameras installed at a few high accident rate intersections. Not sure if we still do. We were told they were to determine why so many accidents. For traffic law enforcement we have the local police officer with a hand held radar gun. Usually only during the warmer months. You don't see'em in January when it is -30* :grinno: (can't blame them).
Local officers are pretty good about speed tolerance - about 12kmh. On Friday I was going 58 in a 60 zone and a police SUV came up behind me and didn't do anything other than pass me.
In fact, one day I felt like accelerating fast and didn't realize an officer was a couple cars back in another lane. Needless to say, he pulled me over. But to my surprise he told me "I don't want to give you a ticket, It's just that so many people saw you spinning your tires back there, a response from me is expected. So I'm going to spend a little time beside your car here and people will think I'm giving you a ticket. Then you can drive away, without, spinning your tires. OK?" I said sure thing officer. Then he said 'nice car' and left.
