My car typically runs 160* to 180* as I sit in traffic and while driving down the road . . . is that bad?

I would want a car to run at least 180 with iron heads, and 190 with alum heads!
will get a more efficient burn.

1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

And I do have aluminum heads . . . so why?  I typically thought the cooler the better?

160-180 normally makes the most power on the dyno

Fuel atomizes the best normally with a 180 degree thermostat which will put you around 190-210 degrees. I doubt you are losing a ton by running cool and I would bet most folks would be envious of your cool running motor. Of course this can vary by motor.

Fighting the other problem is always a huge pain.
