Well...it looks like 512 stroker, stealth heads, and voodoo cam is the route I'm going with.  Damn, and I was just going to replace gaskets :/

This is something I would like to do to my 70 440 six pack as well.
Engine is what you would by in 1970 except for the mopar orange ignition box. Was looking at heads, cam, headers, ignition and reading this post maybe not so simple. Drive it the odd weekend never in the rain. What is a ballpark price on this. I would remove and install engine.

It really depends on the labor rate but we could do a 512 for around 7K depending on parts used , the stroker kit is 2k including crank, rods, pistons, rings & brgs + balancing  + cleaning, machining & assy + head, cam, rockers, intake, etc

check out my budget 440 motor thread. My cylinders and crankshaft looked a lot like yours. rent some micrometers and check cylinder walls for out of roundness. crankshaft can be checked with a micrometer to see if it is still in spec. check out my thread before you go and spend thousands on stuff you do not need. I built mine for around 2,300 dollars. check it out the thread is called [ RV low budget].

I'm going to read up on this 512 based on 440 block. Is this approx a 500hp steetable package.
And keeping the 6 pack carb setup?

I have the same question, but more in general how much HP is being deducted on E Bodies going from gross to net?
