    Valvoline Gear Oil

    The center section I bought from Mancini Racing has on the break-in steps paper what oil to use but specifically says "Do Not Use Valvoline Gear Oil" any one know why? I have Valvoline gear oil already. The diff is a Auburn Pro series. Nowhere on the Auburn web page does it say not to use that oil. I have emailed Mancini but haven't received a response. Just wondering if any one else knew anything.

    Because it was already put in prior to getting the sheet. So if I don't have to pull it all apart just to drain the oil would be a good thing at this point.

    DO NOT RUN SYNTHETIC OIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Straight up 80w90 dino oil only with a limited slip additive. Perhaps Valvoline is a semi syn :clueless:

    a $14 suction gun will suck most of the oil out in minutes without disassembling anything

    Since you bought it from Mancini, call them and ask them about it.

    Here's the reply I got today
    :Valvoline just doesn’t have the reputation it once had. So we recommend using a different brand plus the Mopar friction modifier for the sure grip. I would remove when you can & put in a name brand like Kendall 80/90. Thanks.

    So it's just that they don't like it.

    Or they have found the oil quality to be substandard & damaging parts
