Hooking up gauges?

Okay guys time for the body and the interior since the motor is finished... Well im working on the gauges right now and currently the speedo, aftermarket Tach and the Alt. gauges work. Nothing else... i need to hook up the gas gauge and temp gauge as well as the lights...my problem is nothing was hooked up when i bought the car ans was wondering where the violet and the dark blue wires went... (Dark blue being the gas gauge and the Violet being Temp) i found the hole for the temp gauge... it was plugged off on the mani... so do u guys know where i can pick up the sensor and the tip because the wire was cut... I have not a clue where the blue wire is or goes so a little help would be great there... i for the end of the plug and it looks like it just plugs into the ceramic terminals so i plugged it in and got nothing,... i checked for power at the wires and got power but when i checked the terminals i got nothing so i unbolted the peice to find it was absolutly nothing just a piece of ceramic with 4 terminals on it bolted dow to the firewall??!?!? WTF MATE! ok so if someone can clue me in ill include some pics!

Heres some pics its right behing the windsheild wiper motor on the firewall in the 3rd pic...

First off, the blue wire runs from the gas gauge, to the sending unit in the gas tank. Since this is an after-market gauge you are putting in, I hope it's matched to the resistance of the sending unit, otherwise you will get a incorrect reading. I can't help you with the temp. gauge. That picture you posted is the ballast resistor. That has nothing to do with your gauges. If you had an original tach. in your car, a wire would have run from the "-" side of the coil, to the tach. A wire would have gone from the "+" side of the coil to this ballast resistor. I hope I didn't confuse you more.
