fuel level sending unit?
« on: July 19, 2015 - 04:32:18 PM »
I've had this sending unit for years but I know its and after market sending unit. It never made the gauge read right. I've checked the gauge over and over and it's fine. My low fuel warning light on the over head console is always on and I know I have a full tank. Can anyone tell me who sells a sending unit that works right?

I got mine from Napa Auto parts, it's a Spectra Brand.  Works great.

I've looked at different places and the prices are any where from $39 to $119. Can the cheap one's be much different than the expensive one's? I'll spend the money to get one that's good. I guess I'm trying to find out if the $39 one is the same as the $119 one only without the markup.

It's possible that your float has pin holes or cracks causing it to fill with gas.  A sunken float will make a good or bad sending unit to show an empty or low tank.  Shake your float...it should be empty.
