WTB Heater Box Face/Heater Core Cover or Entire Heater Box for 1970 Challenger

Need an interior heater box face for a 1970 Challenger without A/C.  Mine has a piece missing out of it.  Please see pic for what I need.  Let me know if you can help.

Finding a good original one that is not cracked or broken is like a needle in a haystack, and when you find it...expect to pay lots of $$$$$$.

They do make a reproduction of the front half

The lower opening on non A/C units are always broken from passengers big a$$ feet not sitting still and not being careful.

What I did was: I was able to get another one that was broken and fabricated a piece from it to fit the broken section. Using a pnuematic cutter tool and roloc, I shaped it to fit the curved edge. Glued it with an epoxy, sanded the joining sections smooth and painted it black on the inner opening.

It's not even noticable where I repaired it.

I just cut them back and use a barrel sander to get a nice rounded corner...

I saw the reproduction, but it looks to be black.  These look to be more of a brown color.  That repair looks good in the last photo.  If I could match the color of it I would repair this one.

In my pictures above there's no colour match to worry about, I simply cut more off,

While the new repros aren't exactly "black" they are a much darker colour then the originals, I agree.

You really can't replicate the original look of the heater box finish without it being obvious.

It has fibers in it that are like cream colored.
That is why I used portions of a broken one and worked it together.

I've never used this product it so I can't recommend how the outcome results will turn out.
