73 Challenger fuel sending unit ground strap

Does anyone have a picture of how the grounding strap attaches? or is their another method of grounding it? i did not get a ground strap, but i will order one if necessary.

Its basically held on by friction. See photo.  They sell all over the place.  Be sure to get the right length.  Here is a pic how its attached.

Thanks for the picture. Not sure what i am going to do. My fuel lines are rubber all the way back.

You could tie a wire on the sending unit and put another one... say uhmmm on the screw of the exhaust hangers or on the screw of the left muffler hanger bracket bracket. I did it, it works great !!

73's use the long strap.

My sending unit works fine and I don't have the strap in place.  I bought the short strap by accident and haven't gotten around to installing the long one.  The sending unit grounds through the tank lock ring/tank/tank straps/body.  This works when everything is nice and new but would probably stop working once surface rust starts.  This is why the grounding strap is used.  If you have a clean car underneath you don't necessarily need the strap.  You could just run a wire from the sending unit body to the frame if you wanted to.  That would accomplish the same thing.
